Karaoke is finally comfortable--in public---! because my voice is, at least, ambiguously gendered when i sing... and i love the men in my life. And my kid is awesome. And I'm switching to a class where I'll be safe within my study group :)

I agreed after much manipulation to abrogate my own rights.

That is wrong. I'm not taking care of God's Creation when I do that.

I'm walking away and into AA. I also found a good therapist.

I am so deeply grateful to [info]leareth26  and all the friends who have put up with my anxiety and codependency and blindness. I hope everyone understands that I withdrew to try to keep the crazy off of them.

Special thanks to [info]hypanebliss  for the ugly truth all those years ago. You probably don't care but I held it against you and I'm sorry.

If you're reading this, I love you.

I met the lady who runs this company, she seemed very cool and the production sounds like it is going to be awesome. These kids have been working their butts off, so come support independent business, kids, theatre!

This is Breanna, my friend in Canada. I hope I can have her down to perform someday.

I kinda feel like i have this 'emerging skill' of putting the oxfords on. I still forget sometimes. I am trying for a balance where I honor and express my feminine side but still behave as the accomplished professional man I want to be.

It's not just that you must be the change you want to see-- to do that, you've got to see the change that you can be.

I haven't blogged much lately because I've been working at getting a non-profit going--details here (as well as me blogging about mostly-trans, some-gay issues and comprehension).

One day I want to write a book about the history of GLBT culture that shows the ways discrimination shapes the cultures, how the discriminators against use these effects to undercut things further, and why it's powerful in the first place.

In the meantime, good press will be gained. It will. Yes. There is a plan.

Nobody gonna break-a my stride, nobody gonna slow me down--woah no--I got to keep on moving...

26th-May-2009 10:38 am - Proposition Hate
ghandi rocks

Today, the California Supreme Court upheld the rights of some to take away the rights of others.

I feel sick. I can't believe this was ever a vote in the first place. I can't understand how this is at all civilised. Kathy Griffin did well when she said:

"I've got a few questions for those who supported Proposition 8. My question is a very profound one. What the [censored] is it to you?...Why are people in this state, when we have so many things on our plate, we have a fiscal disaster going on, why does anyone even wasting their time with this issue? Why does anyone even care if gay people get married?...You would never in a million years go up to a person of color and say 'well, you know I hear that Black people want to get married now. I mean, it's fine if they live together." You would cringe, would you not? 'I hear that Mexicans want to vote! There goes the neighborhood!' Right? It would sound absolutelly silly. And yet, across the state, people are having dinner conversations saying, 'well, do gay people really have the right to get married?' Yes! Domestic union, domestic partnership is not the same."

My reaction to this is unprintable, but I can tell you I sit in a state of outrage, nausea, and disbelief.
